Overview

FirstCare have worked in partnership with Waverley Borough Council since 2010 and in that time have helped to achieve a 22% absence reduction. This has been possible thanks to the proactive approach of the Council’s HR team, who have worked with FirstCare to introduce a number of new initiatives, including:
  • 24/7 medical advice to all staff
  • Instant reporting, notifications and reminders to managers
  • Improved management reporting and monitoring to support Waverley’s Fit for Work policy
The success of these initiatives contributed to Waverley’s recognition at the national MJ Local Government Achievement Awards in 2012. Waverley was named as a finalist in the ‘Workforce Transformation’ category.
