Lead Nurse

How come you became a Nurse? I am a nurse because I enjoy helping and caring for people. As a teenager I was a member of Rotary Club and was once Chair of community services. This exposed me to people who had chronic debilitating illnesses who required intervention and help from Health Professionals. I stumbled into nursing after looking after and helping raise money for a friend (he needed new/better prosthetic limbs) who became an amputee post Meningitis attack.

What is your proudest moment as a Nurse? My proudest moment as a nurse was helping deliver a baby in the Tesco Car Park. The baby girl’s second name is Bernadette (after me).

If you hadn’t become a Nurse, what would you have been? If I was not a nurse I would have being a carpenter. I love the tools, the smell of wood and fashioning pieces of timber into a beautiful piece of furniture.
