This site has been designed to be as accessible as possible and compatible with the types of adaptive technology used by people with disabilities, including screen readers. As such visitors can control the size of the text and use ‘access keys’ on the keyboard rather than the mouse to navigate through the pages.
Access Keys
Access keys are keyboard shortcuts that replace the mouse for navigation. If your browser supports access keys, you can use the following:
To go to Home page: Press and hold Alt key and ‘H’ key, press Enter key
To go to Accessibility page: Press and hold Alt key and ‘A’ key, press Enter key
To go to the Site Map: Press and hold Alt key and ‘M’ key, press Enter key
To go to Contact page: Press and hold Alt key and ‘C’ key, press Enter key
Navigating this site
To navigate through this site, please use the menu bar to choose a section and then the dropdown list to select a specific page. Your screen reader will read the menu to you after any content on the page.
Font size
You may change the font size of this site to your preference by using your browser text settings (found in Internet Explorer View Menu > Text Size) or by pressing the Ctrl key and moving the scroller wheel on your mouse (if your mouse supports it). Alternatively, the font size can be changed through your browser. In Internet Explorer, select View, then Text Size, and then your preferred size.
Stylesheets
You may import your own stylesheet into this website. In Internet Explorer, select Tools, then Internet Options, and then Accessibility. Next click on any or all of three checkboxes to ignore colours, font styles or font sizes. In the same window you can change your stylesheet by clicking the checkbox that says ‘format document using my stylesheet’ then simply browse to your stylesheet and click OK.
In Netscape, select Edit, then Preferences, and then Appearance. You will then be given the choice to specify your own colours.
Adobe Acrobat Files
FirstCare may provide some information in the form of Adobe Acrobat files. You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader fromĀ Adobe’s website, alternatively contact FirstCare from theĀ Contact Us page to request another format of such material to be sent to you.
